hatte, war das Wetter heute sehr sch\u00f6n: nicht zu hei\u00df, sonnig, aber mit gen\u00fcgend Wolken f\u00fcr dramatischen Effekt. Angesagt war eine gef\u00fchrte Tour zum Kolosseum, dem Palatin-H\u00fcgel und dem Forum Romanum. Alles arch\u00e4ologische Ausgrabungsst\u00e4tten und nat\u00fcrlich die f\u00fchrenden Touristenattraktionen des antiken Roms. Es war auch ein bisschen was los, aber die F\u00fchrerin versicherte uns, das sei alles noch Gr\u00f6\u00dfenordnungen unter dem Stand von 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Das <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kolosseum\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kolosseum\" target=\"_blank\">Kolosseum<\/a> hei\u00dft eigentlich <em>Amphitheatrum Flavium<\/em> und wurde auch im alten Rome nie Kolosseum genannt. Der &#8222;Koloss&#8220;, um den es geht, stand eigentlich davor und war eine Riesenstatue von Nero bzw. Apollon, die aber nicht erhalten ist. Erbaut zwischen 72 und 80 n.Chr. zur Feier des Sieges im J\u00fcdischen Krieg, und wohl auch zu einem guten Teil von den in ebendiesem Krieg gefangen genommenen j\u00fcdischen Sklaven. Das Amphiteatrum war der Ort der Spiele: Gladiatorenk\u00e4mpfe, Tierschauen, alles was den R\u00f6mern Spa\u00df machte. Die Tickets waren kostenlos, Spiele zu finanzieren war ein Quell von Status f\u00fcr die Reichen und M\u00e4chtigen. Er steht an der Via Sacra, die vom Kolosseum zum Palatin-H\u00fcgel und zum Forum f\u00fchrt.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Palatin<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Der Palatin-H\u00fcgel ist einer der sieben H\u00fcgel Roms und eins der fr\u00fchesten Siedlungsgebiete. Bekannt ist er aber haupts\u00e4chlich daf\u00fcr, dass hier der Kaiserpalast bzw. die Kaiserpal\u00e4ste standen. Augustus fing noch recht bescheiden an, danach wurde rege weitergebaut. Der Palast hier Palatium und daher kommen auch die ganzen europ\u00e4ischen W\u00f6rter Palast, Palazzo, Palais, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Leider ist davon nicht viel \u00fcbrig. Nach dem Untergang des westr\u00f6mischen Reiches wurde immer weiter gepl\u00fcndert und recyclet: von den Barbaren, von den R\u00f6mern, von der Kirche. Warum Marmor kaufen, wenn man Unmengen davon vor der Haust\u00fcr hat? Drum ist der Palatin auch wirklich arch\u00e4ologische St\u00e4tte und nicht viel mehr. Dessen Familie Farnese geh\u00f6rte n\u00e4mlich damals der ganze Palatinh\u00fcgel als Privatbesitz. Rechts oben sieht man eine Art Terrasse, von der habe ich die n\u00e4chsten beiden Fotos aufgenommen, die schon das Forum Romanum (und mehr) zeigen.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Forum Romanum<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Das Forum Romanum ist das Tal zwischen dem Palatin- und dem Kapitol-H\u00fcgel, es galt als das politische und religi\u00f6se Zentrum des alten Roms. Es ist ein bisschen besser erhalten, als der Palast, wohl weil das Tal mehrfach \u00fcberflutet wurde und die Geb\u00e4ude dadurch zum Teil zugedeckt waren. Man beachte die H\u00f6he der gr\u00fcnen T\u00fcr &#8211; da war in der fr\u00fchen Neuzeit die Stra\u00dfenebene. Die Bodenebene des Forum liegt einige Meter tiefer. \u00dcbrigens gab es auch Pl\u00e4ne, mitten in das Kolosseum eine riesige Kirche reinzubauen, quasi die Alternative zum Petersdom.
